Wauneta-Palisade Schools recently announced its junior/senior high Students of the Month.
    Seventh grader Fernando Torres the fifth through eighth grade honor and Greg Gaston was named for the high school.
    Torres, son of Edgar Torres and Carmina Ivarez, says his favorite subject is math. Torres admires positivity and friendly attitudes, saying, “Happiness is what makes you not think of bad or dangerous things and enjoy life.” His role model is his dad and he likes his iPad, watching movies, Rubik’s cubes, the Goosebumps book series and sports.
    A senior, Gaston admires honesty in others and is motivated by failure. The son of Rod and Pam Gaston, he has been participates in basketball, track, National Honor Society, Student Council, FFA and 4-H. Following graduation, Gaston will attend Doane University and plans to earn a teaching degree.
