WP FFA earns 12 individual ribbons at state

Twenty Wauneta-Palisade FFA members took part in last week’s Nebraska FFA State Convention and at least 12 of them brought home ribbons.
The vet tech team continued WP’s success in the discipline with a fifth place team finish. George Lee was sixth and received a purple ribbon, WP’s only purple ribbon for the week. Destiny Beacham earned a blue ribbon with a finish in the top 25 and Ashley Knotts a red ribbon. Jayden Ingold rounded out the team.
The group worked with Candace Cayer to prepare for competitions.
“They had a very good performance,” said FFA sponsor Rod Gaston. “Each one did something well in the different areas.”
The nursery and landscaped team placed seventh, just four points out of sixth place. Greg Gaston and Austen Rozelle each earned blue ribbons. G. Gaston was 15th and Rozelle 22nd and Ben Anderjaska a red ribbon. Tucker Boos was the fourth member of the team. G. Gaston was 13 points away from a purple ribbon.
    R. Gaston said the “design in a box” was a strength again this year. The team finished third in that part of the competition.
