Wauneta-Palisade school board accepts teacher resignation, new teacher contract
The Wauneta-Palisade Public Schools board met for its regular meeting Monday night. During the meeting the board approved changes in the teaching staff for next year.
RanDee Barger’s resignation was accepted by the board. Barger’s resignation comes after many years of service to the district. She currently teaches fifth grade.
Board members also voted to approve a new contract for Lisa McAlvey, who will rejoin the teaching staff at WP after a break. As of Monday night McAlvey’s teaching post has not been determined.
Track renovations
Board members approved a $8,650 estimate from Baxter Concrete to install a new concrete pad for the high jump. The new 50- by 50-foot pad will be poured on the south side of the football field.
The new pole vault pad, previously approved for approximately $2,300, is located at the north end of the football field. Activity Director Joseph Frecks said the layout of the two pads will allow for easy viewing from most points on the field during track practice. Frecks said the new high jump pad will need to have a rubberized surface added at a future date.
