Wauneta-Palisade FFA recaps season at annual banquet

The Wauneta-Palisade FFA chapter wrapped up its year with a banquet April 25 in the Wauneta Attendance Center Gym.
    The featured speaker was Halle Ramsey, Past Nebraska State Vice President, who had visited the chapter this winter.
    Following Ramsey, this year’s degrees were awarded and the season was recapped with state convention qualifiers receiving their ribbons and awards.
    Towards the end of the meeting this year’s officers installed the officers for the coming year. Reagan Skow will be the chapter’s 2017-2018 president, Jayden Ingold the vice president, Destiny Beacham the secretary and treasurer, Ashley Knotts the Reporter and Caid Doetker the sentinel.
Degrees and Awards
    The DeKalb Ag Accomplishment Award went to Greg Gaston and the Wauneta Seed, Inc. Scholarship to Seth Straub. Both were presented by Kevin Janicek.
    Straub was also give the Leadership award.
    Seven students were awarded the Chapter Scholastic award for having GPAs of 3.5 or above. Gaston, juniors Kenna Blackman, Willis Christner and Skow, as well as freshmen Ben Anderjaska, Gunner Goings and Austen Rozelle earned the award. George Lee took home the Star Greenhard award.
