Wauneta American Legion Post 304 to send three students to Boys’ State for the first time in years

The American Legion Post 304 will be sending Dalton Harchelroad, Lake Reikofski and Dennis Cavanaugh to Cornhuskers Boys’ State in Lincoln June 3-9.
    The students are being sponsored by the Wauneta Auxiliary and Wauneta Volunteer Fire Department.
    “We hadn’t sent anyone in so long because it started to become too costly for us. It’s great the Auxiliary and fire department are generously helping send students,” said American Legion adjutant Ed Arenz.
    This is the first year the Wauneta American Legion has sent students to Boys’ State in the last three to four years.
    The annual citizenship program, sponsore d by the Nebraska American Legion, is designed to provide youths with a better understand of how city, county and state governments operate.
