TeamMates Mentoring Program comes to Wauneta-Palisade Schools

Wauneta-Palisade has officially become a part of TeamMates Mentoring Program previous University of Nebraska Head Football Coach Tom Osborne and his wife Nancy Osborne started in 1991.
    T. Osborne believed that the athletes in his program could make an impact in middle school students’ lives and twenty-two football players began meeting with middle school students in the Lincoln Public Schools.
TeamMates Mentoring Program officially became a statewide program in 1998 with 12 chapters and 441 mentor/mentee matches. The program has continued to grow to include over 135 chapters and currently serves more than 7,500 youth.
Wauneta-Palisade officially became a part of the program two weeks ago, and is openly seeking interested mentors. All mentors have to pass a background check, and fill out various paperwork that can be found at https://teammates.org/. Mentees must also have parental permission.
