Part of Bronco Drive closed to parking

Wauneta’s Board of Trustees Tuesday made it a bit less convenient to park near the high school football field on game days.
They voted to ban on-street parking on Bronco Drive from the north edge of Vinita Street to the alley 150 feet north.        Village Public Works Superintendent Bill Bischoff said the request for the change came from the Chase County sheriff due to safety concerns. Cars coming into that stretch of the street are a hazard for people walking into football games, he said, and also interfere with movement and nearby parking of buses.
In another zoning matter, trustees approved a change in the zoning ordinance that will limit where in town cargo containers can be parked.
Parked containers will not be allowed in residential areas and downtown, but will can still be parked in areas zoned industrial and light commercial.
