One of five new teachers hired in the Wauneta-Palisade School District this year has quit.
    School Superintendent Randy Geier said John Blomstade’s resignation was effective Sept. 30, when it was accepted by the school board.
    Blomstade, a Wauneta-Palisade graduate, taught social studies.
    Because it involved a personnel matter, Geier could not say why he resigned or if the resignation was voluntary.
    Blomstade’s wife, Laura, teaches third grade in Palisade. Geier said she is planning to stay; she could not be reached for comment.
