Joyeux Noel, Feliz Navidad, Merry Christmas too!
Wauneta-Palisade Schools had its fifth through 12th grade Christmas concert Monday, Dec. 18 in the Wauneta Attendance Center gym. Both choir and band performed for the community. Pictured, top left, the high school and junior high choirs joined together to sing Pompeii arranged by choir conductor Aaron Behrends. The song featured two senior soloist Reagan Skow and Willis Christner.
This year’s seventh-12th grade band is big in numbers. The band, pictured bottom left, performed two pieces, Two British Folk Songs and An American Celebration. During An American Celebration, all attendees were asked to stand and join in singing My Country Tis of Thee. The high school choir preformed Joyeux Noel Feliz Navidad, a piece that features Merry Christmas in five different languages. The fifth and sixth grade classes’ performances filled the gym with laughter. In one of the songs, Ugly Sweater, the boys and girls went back and forth on the beauty and terribleness of ugly Christmas sweaters. Pictured, bottom right, the boys were dressed in the ugliest of sweaters during the song conducted by Sara Behrends.
