Dear me

Dear diary,
It’s hard to believe we are already a month into summer vacation. I’m relieved everyone has survived so far, although if the boy doesn’t start sleeping past 6:00 a.m. he might not make it much longer. His dad may appreciate an “up-and-at ’em” attitude, but the females of the house are sick of it.
I woke up the other morning to his sister yelling, “You IDIOT.” I got out of bed to correct her, but found out he had brought a wild bird in the house. I agreed with her (in my head) and told him to get out.
The chore schedule has not worked as I had hoped. Instead of doing chores so they can watch TV, they are choosing to not do chores and play outside. As long as the animals are taken care of, I’ve decided it’s not worth the fight.
