Rhea Kay (Johnston) Usher

    Rhea Kay (Johnston) Usher was born to Virgil Bertrand and Emma Eva (Osmera) Johnston on February 17, 1936 in Wauneta, Nebraska. She attended school in Wauneta and graduated with the Class of 1953. After high school Rhea attended Central Business College in Denver, Colorado.
    She was united in marriage in 1958 to Gerald Dean Usher in Wauneta. The couple first settled on Modesto, California before moving back to Wauneta. Rhea also lived in North Platte, Grant and Chadron, Nebraska; Cottonwood and Flagstaff, Arizona; and her final home was in Lincoln, Nebraska.
    Rhea was an active member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She had many hobbies including, needlework (cross-stitch and crocheting), playing the piano, reading and furniture restoration.
    She passed away on March 21, 2019 in Lincoln, Nebraska. She was 83 years of age.
    Rhea was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerald Usher; her brother and sister-in-law, Robert DeLaine Johnston and Mary Ellen (Lindberg) Johnston; and grandson, Eric Salem.
    Survivors include children Kathleen Rae (Usher) Edwards and husband Daniel Lee Edwards of Douglas, Wyoming; Marcy Jo (Usher) Riviezzo and husband AJ Riviezzo of Colorado Springs, Colorado; Allison Kay (Usher) Salem and husband Richard Byron Salem of Lincoln, Nebraska; grandchildren Erin Kay (Edwards) Shaddick and husband Justin Shaddick, Daniel Andrew Edwards and wife Lisa Edwards, Nicholas Dean Kutschara, Phillip Benjamin Kutschara, Emily (Salem) Faubel and husband Ross Faubel, Samuel Norman Salem and Kari Kratky Salem; great-grandchildren Halle Shaddick, Hannah Shaddick, Noah Shaddick, Braelyn Edwards, Lillian Edwards, Camden Edwards, Kason Edwards, Brynn Jo Kutschara, Nathan Kutschara, Wyatt Kutschara, Olivia Faubel, Jonathan Faubel, Jabari Faubel, Claire Salem, Spencer Salem and Nate Christiansen.
    Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. MT, Friday, March 29, 2019 at Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta with Pastor Elias Mukindia officiating.
    Interment will immediately follow services in Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
    Viewing is prior to the funeral services on Friday morning, March 29th, 2019, 9:00 a.m. MT at the funeral home in Wauneta.
    A memorial has been established in Rhea’s name for future designation.
