Mildred Sophia Carolina (Haarberg) Roschewski was born Aug. 17, 1925 to Dietrich Carl Heinrich Haarberg (Dick) and Lena Dorothea (Alsleben) Haarberg at home in Wallace County (Sharon Springs), Kansas. She was baptized in Wallace County, Kansas and confirmed in the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church of rural Wauneta, Nebraska. Mildred graduated eighth grade from St. Paul’s Lutheran School in rural Wauneta.
Mildred was united in marriage to Eldon Roschewski on Aug. 25, 1946. Mildred and Eldon moved to Imperial where she worked in several businesses until the Imperial Manor opened. Mildred began her many year career at the Imperial Manor where she worked until retirement. She enjoyed camping, fishing, square dancing, sewing and travelling with her husband, Eldon.
Mildred passed away Saturday, June 20, 2020 at the Imperial Manor. She was 94 years of age.
Mildred is survived by her daughter Marilyn (Donald) O’Neil of Elsie; her son Keith (Dwana) Roschewski of Benkelman; sister Eileen Martel of Imperial; brother Leroy Haarberg of Wauneta; sisters-in-law Joyce (Clarence) Parde of Beatrice,Nebraska and Margaret Roschewski of Centennial, Colorado; six grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mildred was preceded in death by husband, Eldon, of 74 years; parents; sister-in-law, Shirley Haarberg; niece, LeAnn Haarberg; brothers-in-law, Louis Clay, Donald Roschewski.
Funeral services for Mildred will be held Friday, June 26, 2020, 10:30 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial with Pastor David Kahle officiating.
Burial services will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Imperial.
