Ellen Kathleen McCallum, 95, of Lincoln, passed away Feb. 17, 2017. Born Oct. 30, 1921 in DeWitt, Neb., to Carl W. and Izetta A. (Jones) Wilkens.
    She received her Bachelor’s degree in Home Economics and Master’s degree in psychology at UNL.
    She married Bruce McCallum on June 3, 1946 in DeWitt, Neb. He preceded her in death on Feb. 18, 1997. McCallum was a Home Economics Teacher in Wauneta, Palisade and Imperial, Neb.,for 20 years. She has been a Lincoln resident since 1990 and a member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church.
    Family members include her daughter, Kathleen M. (Charles) Schroeder; son Douglas B. (Gaye) McCallum, all of Eagle; grandchildren, Chris, Matt, Betsy and Lindsay; step-grandchildren, Caitlin, Adam, Lindsay and their spouses and families; numerous extended family members and friends. Preceded in death by parents, first husband Lee Klostermeier (killed in action during WWII); husband Bruce McCallum; grandson Patrick; brother Everett and sister Marilyn.
    A memorial service was held on Tuesday at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, with Rev. Wayne Alloway and Rev. Kara Hillhouse officiating.
