Twenty-five bikes turn out for fair’s motorcycle show

Participation was up considerably for this year’s Chase County Fair motorcycle show on the fairgrounds midway.
Saturday’s show drew 25 bikes compared to 15 in 2017. The contest is sponsored each year by District 12 ABATE, which stands for American Bikers Aiming Toward Education.
A panel of three judges selected trophy winners in six classes. The public voted on an additional People’s Choice winner, and the entrant who traveled the furthest also received a trophy.
Dan Parks of Sharon Springs, Kansas, entered the People’s Choice winner. His 1942 Cushman Air Corps Model 39 package car was a birthday gift from his son, Jory.
The People’s Choice winners also took top honors in the Pre-1970 class.
