Wauneta-Palisade students receive honors for winning poster competition
In December 2017 Wauneta-Palisade elementary students received information on the 811 poster contest which focused on the importance of knowing what is underground before digging. Students had to create a poster that visually explained Nebraska’s Call811 mantra “Know what’s below. Call before you dig.”
Fifth graders Nathan Blackman, Collin Bley, Ashton Blackman and Grayden Sutherland and third graders Kenzie Bardsley and Addalyn Einspahr won the competition.
Each student attended Governor Pete Ricketts’ proclamation ceremony at the State Capitol Building where their posters were on display. At the ceremony Ricketts proclaimed April as Safe Digging Month.
