Western States Bank made donations to nine area organizations during its first annual “Giving from the Heart” ceremony. Western States Bank hosts ‘Giving from the Heart’

Western States Bank had its annual “Giving from the Heart” program. The yearly initiative ended with a ceremony held on Valentine’s Day at all Western States Bank locations.
    Recipients of 2018 “Giving from the Heart” donations from the Wauneta branch include the Wauneta Chamber for its Harvest Festival and movie sponsor, Wauneta EMS for the purchase of a new defibrillator/monitors, Wauneta Girl Scouts for its community garden project, Wauneta-Palisade FFA for a Basket Hanger Cart for students to make, hand and market hanging baskets, the Southwest Rodeo for an event belt buckle, Imperial Young Farmers and Ranchers to sponsor the Chase County Fair BBQ, the Village of Wauneta’s community building project, Mercy Meals of Southwest Nebraska to purchase food products used to pack bags that provide six meals to hungry children around the world (donation will be 1,600 meals), Pheasants Forever to help develop habitat for wild life with food plots and works with youth to teach them habitat and hunting sport safety and the Chase County Community Hospital Foundation as gala sponsor, cancer walk sponsor and Slice For Life Golf Benefit.
    Recipients were presented with their donations during a ceremony at Western States Bank in Wauneta on Wednesday, Feb. 14, 2018. Joey Large said the bank was, “Proud to say everyone who applied around the community got a fund.”
