WCTC Happenings

This week I can tell you about what you can see on the big bulletin board just outside of Karla’s office. For several days the words “Solar Eclipse” in large letters were at the top of the board. They made you expect to see information on the eclipse and sure enough this week we can read what it’s all about.
It’s called the American Eclipse with a map of all the United States that has a yellow strip from southeast United States in a straight line to the northeast and the strip above the path across the United States so you can tell where you might travel to, in order you might see the eclipse.
The yellow strip lists the location you might see the eclipse. The strip starts at Charleston, S.C. I can ask Randy who calls the nursing home. He calls here every three months and he visits with me about my well being on a t.v. in Lisa’s office. He lives and works in Charleston. The map label the strip “Path of Totality” and advises you to go to a location around a town on the path.
As it crosses Nebraska,  towns of Lincoln, Grand Island and Scottsbluff are right on the “Path of Totality.” I’ve found myself reading information to help me realize what a great event it is to be.
The date for the eclipse is August 21, so since Nebraska is the center of the United States one article tells our state to expect thousands to come to Nebraska. The need is to come several days before the eclipse, get to one of the towns on the path and decide where to be, ahead of August 21st.
