Wauneta seeing more effects of COVID pandemic

After getting to the pandemic party later than some, Wauneta is starting to see more effects of the pandemic.
Sandhills State Bank has once again closed its lobby after reopening it for a time.
Brenda Anderson of the bank said all branches were once again locked down after the warning level for the Southwest Nebraska Public Health District was ratcheted up to orange.
Restrictions are the same as before; anyone having business to conduct at the bank can call ahead and an employee will meet them at the door.
The pandemic also has forced cancellation of the Fire Department pancake supper scheduled for today (Thursday).
A student at Wauneta-Palisade Schools was the first person in town to receive a positive COVID test, but school officials have clamped down on any information coming out of the district.
