The Wauneta Breeze received several awards at Nebraska Press Association’s 144th Annual Convention in Lincoln last weekend.
    The Breeze competed in the Class A category, weekly newspapers with circulation up to 859. Newspapers were judged on the quality of their writing, photography and design work that was published in 2017.
    More than 3,800 separate entries, representing nine dailies and 62 weeklies, were judged by members of the Texas Press Association. First second and third place winners were announced Saturday night at an awards banquet at the Cornhusker Marriott in Lincoln, where more than 160 journalists attended.
