Wauneta bank purchase to go into effect Jan. 26

Western States Bank customers will officially become Sandhills State Bank customers Jan. 26.
That date will be “basically the closing of the acquisition and the conversion of the data,” said Kyle Arganbright, chief development officer for Sandhills State Bank.
The Wauneta location was one of three
Western States Bank branches that Sandhills State Bank  bought in November. The other two were in Grant and Ogallala.
At the time, Arganbright said the purchases are part of the bank’s plan to “expand our footprint in western Nebraska.” Purchase of the three locations will give Sandhills State Bank a dozen branch offices.
New debit cards and checks will be sent out this month. Customers will be able to start using the debit cards at noon on Saturday, Jan. 26, and the branches will open as Sandhills State Bank Jan. 28. Online banking also will be available Jan. 26.
Arganbright said mailings about the changes have been sent to all bank customers.
