Sunrise Heights Happenings

Of interest to me after breakfast on Saturday, back in my room, a look outside through my north window I saw we were having another gray day. There have been many of those. Gray means no sun. But also I noticed it was very windy.
My bird feeder was empty, so it got blown around and around in a circle. The feeder is a tall clear plastic tube. It was impossible for a finch to catch a ride on it. The feeder has six places holes for the birds to put their heads in to get one seed. Each hole has a wire perch and birds are good at staying on the perch as the wind keeps the feeder swinging. Many times when all six of the bird cafes are in use, but a group of hungry birds fly in and chase off those eating by flying close and clearing the ones occupying the side perches and I think “how rude.”
I think all animals have the selfish trait. They don’t get food unless they fight for it, they don’t grow and maybe live.
I’m thinking of the few times I did the hog chores on the farm. Talk about “selfish,” hogs are.
One time I recall, I was trying to pour a bucket of feed in their trough and I didn’t do it fast enough as all the pigs fought to get where the feed was coming from. Lynn was in the pen to help control the pigs. His weapon was a short handled flat spade. I can think of another time I was in charge of hogs. That may be another time I could write about. You readers are tired of all this chatter, by now.
