State Patrol Dan Thompson retires

Nebraska State Patrolman Dan Thompson of Imperial retired at the end of 2017 after 30 years of service. Thompson was recognized during a ceremony and reception held Thursday, Dec. 28 at Zion Lutheran Church in Imperial. He began his career on Sept. 14, 1987, working road operations out of Lincoln. He and his family moved to Imperial and he began duties June 4, 1999 as the first trooper ever assigned to Imperial. His license plate on his patrol car carried his badge number 223. He was presented with memorabilia from his career in a presentation from Troop D Commander Captain Martin Denton of North Platte, left, and Colonel John A. Bolduc. Thompson was joined by his wife, Connie, daughter Shelby Day of Grant and son Garret of Omaha.
