Pioneer Days to be delayed by a week

This year’s Pioneer Days in Palisade has been put off for a week.
Andrew Ward, of the event’s organizing committee, said it will be June 14, 15 and 16. It originally was scheduled for the weekend before that, but this year that would conflict with the Nebraska Cattlemen’s Ball to be held near Wauneta June 7 and 8.
Organizing work for the annual Palisade event is going “a little slower than usual, but it’s going,” Ward said.
“It’s really just hard for committee members to find a chance to set up a time and meet, mostly, and we’re really, really short help this year. It’s taken the few members that we have doing double-time trying to set up the weekend.”
There are about a half-dozen people on the organizing committee, he said.
Most of the regular events are being planned.
