MCC taking over former Sertoma All-Star Volleyball game

A long-time area summer volleyball event is “changing hands” but area high school all-stars will once again take center stage when east meets west June 17 on the McCook Community College campus.
The Wild West All-Star Volleyball Classic—formerly known as the Sertoma All-Star Volleyball Classic—is set for June 17 at the Peter and Dolores Graff Events Center.
MCC volleyball coach Hayley Kobza, completing her first year at the college post, said she is looking forward to upholding the same high standards that Sertoma members established and maintained for many years.
She plans on keeping a few of the items the same, but also wants to put her own twist on things. She plans to make this a memorable showcase for area high school volleyball players—and for some, one final high school game.
Kobza said she has a fun-filled day of events for the players including: a photo shoot, team lunch, bowling at TJ’s Family Fun Center, a scavenger hunt, dinner with family members, and the day will wrap up with the 6 p.m. game.
