    Randy Jordan of Wauneta is the latest addition to the Chase County Sheriff’s Department. Jordan began his duties on the department last week. Originally from the McCook area, Jordan has lived in Wauneta for the past couple years, working as a mechanic at Advanced Auto.
    Brennan Keiser took first place at the State Speech contest in persuasive speaking with his look at the effects of technology on our lives.
    This year’s prom royalty was crowned at the conclusion of the promenade with Michael Gardner and Brittany O’Neil being crowned 2007 prom king and queen.
    Jyl and Allen Abbott and family visited June Cox Sunday afternoon.
    Lynn and Darlene spent Friday to Sunday in Lincoln with Theresa Haarberg.

    A changing of the guard will occur at the Enders Reservoir State Recreational Area. Jim Swenson, who has been superintendent at the park for six years, will be headed to Mahoney at Ashland. His replacement will be Mike Hoskovec.
    Henry and Leta Brunkhorst visited Hilda Nordhausen Friday and Ann Einspahr on Sunday.
    Dale and Orpha Maris were Saturday supper guests of Devon Maris at a cafe in McCook.
    Jayden and Randi Maris were Thursday overnight guests of the Loyd Christner home.
    Connie Barnes, Sable and Megan had lunch with Frances Lewis Friday in Wauneta.
