    Ted and Joyce Grimm served as the 2008 Harvest Festival grand marshals.
    Jon and Julie Sparrow were Friday morning breakfast guests of Violet Long. Martin and Erma Fortkamp were Sunday dinner guests of Violet Long. Melissa Long of Kearney was an afternoon guest.
    Sunday evening supper guests of Amy Harris were John and Frances Lewis, Connie Lewis, and Barbara Hogsett.
    Julie Vrbas was a caller in the home of Zora Sailors Saturday evening.
    Mr. and Mrs. Byron Alberts and family spent Sunday with Leola Alberts.
    Eddie and Donna Nichols were named yard of the month for July. The Nichol’s front yard is landscaped with various shrubbery and lots of colorful flowers.
    Alex and Edith Von Stade observed their 60th wedding anniversary. Alex and Edith both grew up in Wauenta and were Married July 18, 1948, in the Wauneta Methodist Church.
