Dr. Richman tenders resignation, planning move to Delta, Colo.

Chase County’s healthcare community suffered a big blow this week when Dr. Jon Richman tendered his resignation at Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH) Monday.
Steve Lewis, CCCH administrator, said he received Richman’s letter of resignation Monday.
In a statement by Richman, he indicated he’s enjoyed many rewarding experiences during the past 15 years serving Chase County.
He noted it was not an easy decision for him, his wife and family. However, his goal was to be able to spend more time with his family.
Richman has accepted a position with Delta County Memorial Hospital in Delta, Colo.
Delta is located on the western slope, about 50 miles southeast of Grand Junction.
According to the hospital’s web site, Richman will be joining a staff of 10 other family practice doctors.
Not only will Chase County lose a doctor, it will also lose a dentist. Richman’s wife, Rachell, owns and operates Prairie Dental Center in Imperial.
Lewis said Richman provided a 90-day notice. With time off already accumulated, Lewis said it appears Richman final day will be sometime in April.
“We sure hate to lose him at the hospital,” Lewis said. It was a sad day at the hospital Monday when Richman resigned, Lewis added.
