County to maintain sole use of radio frequencies

Chase County Commissioners Dave Hogsett, Chuck Vette and Don Weiss, Jr. met July 11 for their first meeting of July. 

Sheriff Kevin Mueller and Emergency Manager Duane Dreiling attended the June 27 commissioners’ meeting to talk to the board about the radio frequencies the county owns and uses. Prairie States Communications (PSC) would like to use the channels. Dreiling and Mueller want to keep the channels for county use only. At the July 11 meeting the pair returned with paperwork that  the commissioners signed for PSC confirming that the frequencies are for county use only.
