After months, if not years, of concerns over the county’s lack of insurance for families, Chase County Commissioners made changes to the county’s coverage.
    The commissioners met with representatives of three different insurance options Nov. 13.
    At last week’s meeting, the board made the change to coverage offered by Nebraska Association of County Officials.
    The initial plan, which may be tweaked in coming years, is to offer an employee a buy-up for $500 for family coverage. A single employee could use the $500 to buy up to move up a tier. Employees could also use the buy-up to add their spouses to their plan.
