County and cities unaffected by government shutdown, for now

While many people in the country are struggling to pay bills due to lack of paychecks from the government shutdown, Imperial and Chase County hasn’t seen any effects as of yet.
The government shutdown started on Dec. 22, and hit its 26th day on Wednesday.
Affected employees went without a paycheck starting last Friday.
This is currently the longest-running government shutdown on record.
Wauneta Village Clerk Evelyn Skelton said it hasn’t affected any offices here.
The same is true in Imperial.
“It hasn’t affected the city directly,” City Clerk/Administrator Jo Leyland said.
“If it goes on for awhile it may cause some problems.”
