Chase, Hayes Counties to share services

Chase County Commissioners Dave Hogsett, Chuck Vette and Don Weiss, Jr. met July 25 for their final meeting of July.
The past weeks have been busy for the group as the Board of Equalization has met several times concerning protests on top of its regular business.
Chase County Emergency Manager Duane Dreiling kicked off the meeting by presenting the board with the renewal rate ($8,035) for the Code Red system used to alert the county’s emergency personnel.
Dreiling put forth a plan to switch to Rave Alert in conjuction with Hayes County. Rave Alert would provide texts, email, voice, RSS, SMS messaging and loaded landline notifications for $3,750 plus a one-time set up fee of $1,500. Based on Dreiling’s suggestion the board approved the move to Rave Alert.
The commissioners also approved an interlocal agreement with Hayes County allowing a Chase County employee to install signs in Hayes County.
