In an effort to make wages more comparable across the board, the Chase County Commissioners, Dave Hogsett, Chuck Vette and Don Weiss, Jr, approved a raise for Chase County Transit drivers.
    The drivers had been receiving $10 per hour with a 50 cent increase after a three-month probation period.
    After discussion a motion was passed to raise the amount to $15 with a 50 cent increase after the three-month probation period.

Property lines
    Josh Skelton was on hand to discuss property lines at the Chase County Fairgrounds. As the county moves forward with plans to build on the southeast corner of the fairgrounds, Skelton, with Dickinson Land Surveyors, has been attempting to establish property lines.
    Skelton has had a hard time tracking down maps of the area which show the correct lines.
    The commissioners said they would like the building to sit as far east as possible. Skelton said there are storm lines to the west, but he’s not sure where they are at. To the east is a 30-foot utilities easement.

Hospital bill
    Chase County Attorney Arlan Wine has filed a case for a declaratory judgement concerning the Chase County Community Hospital’s bill for a City of Imperial prisoner who was declined admittance into the Chase County Jail. The City of Imperial has 30 days from the filing to respond.
    Wine is hopeful that the judge will take oral and written arguments. He anticipates a court date at the end of May.
