CCCH says goodbye to seven-week dietetic intern

Chase County Community Hospital (CCCH) recently hosted two medical students completing their rural care block and will soon say goodbye to dietetic intern, Kailin McClung.
McClung, a Big Springs native, has been at CCCH for the last seven weeks gleaning all she can from Julie Levy, CCCH’s very own registered dietician (RD) and board certified—advanced diabetes management.
“You have a real gem here with Julie. People need to look to their rural hospital even if it is only to do some job shadowing,” said McClung.
She attended the University of Wyoming where she received her bachelors in family consumer science and, as of Friday, will have completed  Iowa State University’s graduate dietetic internship program.
McClung has both observed and learned how dietetic patients are evaluated/diagnosed, how to choose proper intervention and then how to effectively teach all she has learned.
