Appointments still open to public for health fair blood draws

There are already 200 appointments made for blood draws in Imperial and Wauneta as part of Chase County Community Hospital’s efforts to promote good health this month during its fall health fair events.
Hospital Lab Director Sue Peterson said early morning times are filled Sept. 19, 20 and 21 in Imperial at the hospital’s surgery waiting area, but there are still plenty of appointments open from 8 a.m MT/9 a.m. CT to 10 a.m. MT/ 11 a.m. CT those days.
Blood draws are scheduled at the Wauneta clinic Tuesday, Sept. 26, from 6:30 a.m. MT/ 7:30 a.m. CT to 10 a.m. MT/ 1 a.m. CT, and all appointments times are still open, she said.
Those wishing to take part are asked to call 308-882-7365 to schedule an appointment.
Those getting blood draws must be fasting (no food or drink, except water) for 12-14 hours prior to the draw. Prescribed medications can be taken with water.
One copy of the results for each health fair participant will be available at the Defend Your Health Wellness Festival on Saturday, Sept. 30. Those unable to attend the festival, will be mailed their results the week of Oct. 2, Peterson said.
Results will also be available on the Patient Portal on the Chase County Community Hospital’s website.
