Ambulances to get upgrade

The Wauneta and Imperial ambulances will be seeing upgrades in their cots. Chase County Commissioners Dave Hogsett, Chuck Vette and Don Weiss, Jr. approved the purchase of four new cots at the commissioners’ May 8 meeting.
A representative with Stryker EMS impressed the board with a demonstration of the cots at the April 10 commissioners’ meeting.
Last week the commissioners approved $209,182.48 for four cots, two for Imperial and two for Wauneta. Each cot will cost $1,500 to install. Each EMS squad will be asked to cover the installation costs. Delivery is expected after July 1.
The county plans on making a $70,000 down payment and then using a three-year payment schedule.
