Students from Holyoke, Haxtun, Julesburg, Ovid, Yuma and Wray will have Monday, Jan. 15, off from school, and for those in grades 1-8, there’s an opportunity to spend that day playing basketball.
    Pre-registration is now open and is required for the Dragon 3-on-3 basketball tournament hosted by the city of Holyoke and the Dragon Booster Club. The deadline to sign up is Friday, Jan. 5.
    On Jan. 15, check in is at 8:30 a.m. MT/9:30 CT in the new gym at HHS. Half-court games will be played in both the old and new gyms, and they will go to 21 points or 20 minutes, whichever comes first.
    Each team can have three to five players and will be put into one of eight different divisions. Divisions will consist of male and female in grades 1-2, grades 3-4, grades 5-6 and grades 7-8.
    Teams will be placed in the grade division of the oldest player, and co-ed teams will be in the male division.
