Saturday marked the beginning of a new chapter in life for 10 Wauneta-Palisade graduates. The commencement ceremony took place Saturday, May 13, at the Wauneta-Palisade Attendance Center.

The Village of Wauneta Board took the first step toward changing the name of the nursing home at last week’s village board meeting.

Fire calls to schools and nursing homes are events nobody likes to see, but Wauneta has seen both in recent weeks. Thankfully, both have ended without injury or major damage.

This year’s annual catfish tournament sponsored by the Southwest Nebraska Izaak Walton League, also referred to as Ike’s, brought in 13 different teams with both local and out of state competitors.
