Southwest Nebraska private pesticide training and certified chemigator training
Private pesticide safety training session have been set for Southwest Nebraska counties. Plan to attend one of these sessions if to renew or receive initial pesticide certification. Training sessions outside Southwest Nebraska are available on this website pested.unl.edu.
There is a $40.00 per person training cost for pesticide certification. Checks are preferred, made out to Nebraska Extension. Please bring the copy of the letter sent by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture for renewal certifications. Forms will be available to renew or certify for the first time at the training.
Following the completion of the certification training or self-study course ($60.00) information is sent to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture so those certified can become licensed.
A billing statement will be sent from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture for their license fee. The cost for a three-year private applicator license is $25.
After the NDA receives payment a license will be issued. No license will be issued until the $25 fee is paid. Pesticide purchases can only be made by those that are both certified and licensed.
Chemigation certificates expire on Dec. 31. Anyone planning to chemigate during 2018, needs to be certified. To become certified chemigators must attend a training session and pass a written exam. Requirements for initial and recertification are the same.
Registration for chemigation training is encouraged, but not required. Preregister by contacting the Nebraska Extension Office that is offering the training.
Those pre-registered can request a copy of the training manual and calibration workbook to review prior to the training session.
Please bring the Chemigation Training Manual, Calibration Workbook, (if received prior to the training) a No. 2 pencil and a calculator to the training.
