Regional, national experts to speak at URNRD water conference

The Upper Republican NRD is hosting its second annual water conference late this month, “H2Overview­—Local to National Water Matters” that will include Nebraska, national and regional water experts and policy makers.
    The information provided at the conference will provide the ag community and others insight into legal, policy and technical aspects of water issues.
    The event is free, open to the public and will include a free catered lunch. The conference is set for March 27 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Chase County Fairground Exhibit Hall.
    The conference is designed to help attendees understand different water policies and how they affect irrigators, issues pertaining to irrigation efficiency and what other states are doing in regards to water usage and regulation, among other things.
    The Kansas Secretary of Agriculture and the Director of the Nebraska Department of Natural Resources will also provide perspectives on recent developments regarding Republican River Compact compliance.
