Private pesticide trainings scheduled

Private pesticide safety trainings have been set for Perkins, Chase and Dundy Counties. Trainings are intended for producers whose licenses are expiring or those who need an initial license.
Trainings will be held in Elsie, Grant, Imperial and Benkelman. See below for a full list of trainings.
There is a $30 per person training cost for initial or renewal pesticide certification. Checks are preferred, made out to Nebraska Extension, due to new accounting regulations.
Organizers ask producers to  bring their copy of the letter sent by the Nebraska Department of Agriculture if they are renewing their certification.  If producers did not receive a letter, forms will be available to renew or certify for the first time.
Following the certification meeting or the completion of the self-study course ($60.00) the information is sent to the Nebraska Department of Agriculture that pesticide training was completed.
Once producers have completed training they need to become licensed.  To become licensed producers will receive a billing statement from the Nebraska Department of Agriculture for their license fee. The cost for a three-year private applicator license is $25. After the NDA receives payment, producers will be issued a license.  Licenses will not be issued until the $25 fee is paid to NDA.
