4-H, FFA beef weigh Feb. 2

The Chase County 4-H market beef weigh-in is set for Saturday, Feb. 2, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Imperial Auction Market.
All Chase County 4-H and FFA members planning to exhibit market heifers or market steers should weigh-in, tag and identify their projects at this time, said UNL Extension Educator Debbie Kuenning.
Any youth planning to exhibit at the Nebraska State Fair or Ak-Sar-Ben Livestock Exposition will also be required to collect hair samples for DNA purposes. There will be a handling fee for each animal identified to exhibit at these shows, with the cost not yet determined, she added.
Youths who cannot make it to the market beef weigh-in in Chase County will need to make arrangements to tag and identify their animals, she said.  All market beef IDs are due to the Chase County Extension Office by March 31.
