Owner Occupied Rehab funds still available for Wauneta homeowners

Homeowners in Wauneta have the opportunity to get a little help with home renovations, if they meet income guidelines. The Village of Wauneta and Southwest Nebraska Community Betterment Corporation are working together to provide necessary renovations to homes within the city limits of Wauneta using funding provided by the Nebraska Department of Economic Development.
The Owner Occupied Rehabilitation (OOR) program provides homeowners living at a moderate to low income level a financial resources to complete renovations to their homes. Examples of projects that may be approved under the program are new windows, doors, siding, roofing, heating systems and insulation.
The assistance is offered as a zero percent “forgivable loan” to qualified homeowners. No repayment of the loan is required, so long as the homeowners maintain the property as their primary residence for 10 years.
