Edith Lorance - October 24, 2009

Edith Marie Lorance was born Dec. 27, 1915, on the family farm near Wauneta, Neb., to Chester C. Stock and Bessie (Ough) Stock. She graduated from Wauneta High School, Wauneta, in 1933.
She married Bert Edward Lorance on March 25, 1937, at Wauneta. Bert and Edith farmed in Nebraska and Bert played tenor sax and Edith played piano on weekends in the Sammy Haven Band in the 1940s and 1950s.
She retired from the Connecticut General Life Insurance Company, Denver, in 1980.
She died Oct. 24, 2009, in Denver, Colo., at the age of 93 years.
Edith was preceded in death by husband Bert Edward Lorance and close friend Sylvester Reeves.
She is survived by brother William and Ruby Stock, McCook, Neb., and sister Lois Lane, Dix, Neb.; daughter Reta Ann Smith, Aurora, Colo., Kent Robert Smith, Casper, Wyo., their son Mitchell Kent Smith and wife Lynette Ann Smith, Casper, Wyo., and their children: Levi James Kerstiens, Mara Lynn Smith and Kyle Robert Smith; son Richard Wayne Lorance and wife Susan Jay Lorance, Duncanville, Texas, their daughter Abigail Lorance and husband Richard William Beyer, Lewisville, Texas, and sons Dante Marshall Burress and Carter Maxwell Beyer and their daughter Jessica Lorance, Dallas, Texas.
Services are scheduled at Advantage Aurora Chase Chapel, 1095 Havana St., Aurora, Colo., 80010 on Saturday, Oct. 31, 2009, at 11 a.m. and at the Liewer Funeral Home in Wauneta on Nov. 2, 2009, at 11 a.m.
Visitation will be held Monday morning, Nov. 2, 2009, at the funeral home in Wauneta starting at 10 a.m.
Interment will follow services at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
A memorial has been established in Edith’s memory.
