Roy Myron Littrel was born June 30, 1934, in Imperial, Neb., to Ivan Henry and Lilly Pearl (Snyder) Littrel. He attended the first grade at Sunny Side School, south of Wauneta, Neb., and then second through twelfth grades at Wauneta Public Schools, graduating in 1953.
Roy married Shirley Ann Sinner on March 25, 1956, at her parents’ home in Wauneta. Roy and Shirley made their home on the Littrel family farm, five miles south of Hamlet, Neb., for several years before moving to a rented farm about five miles southwest of Palisade, Neb. Roy worked for Emerson Schwenk, farming and feeding cattle before joining Wauneta Public Schools as head custodian. He worked for the school system for eight years before becoming disabled.
