Loraine Osborn - December 03, 2012


Loraine Marie Osborn was born on Jan. 28, 1918, at the family farm in Dundy County, Nebraska, to Chris and Bertha Lutz. She entered eternal life on Dec. 3, 2012, at Imperial, Neb.
She was married to Donald G. Osborn on March 2, 1949, in St. Francis, Kan. An infant daughter was born to this union. Don and Loraine celebrated 65 years of blissful married life together. They resided all of their married life in Benkelman, Neb.
Loraine graduated from Dundy County High School and worked at Irelands Dept. Store in her early years, then moved on to accountant for International Harvester Inc. From there she moved to receive an accountant certificate, and worked at Dundy County Hospital as an accountant until her retirement.
Loraine was a faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church and was a member of the ALCW and treasurer of the Lutheran Sunday School for many years. She was a faithful servant of the Lord.
She gave her time and love to her family and Don over the years. Everyone was welcome in her house and she loved making meals for all. Family will remember sitting at Loraine’s table enjoying the homecooked meals and fellowship. Her loving ways will be missed by all.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; her parents, Chris and Bertha Lutz; brothers, Martin Lutz and Alfred Lutz.
Survivors include husband, Donald Osborn, of Benkelman; brother, Carl Lutz, and wife, Jean, of Parks, Neb.; sister, Helen Stevens, of Brush, Colo.; sister-in-laws, Ilene Erdman, and husband, Earl, of Haigler, Neb., Naomi Osborn of Benkelman and Phyllis Osborn of Chadron, Neb.; nieces, Cathy David and husband, Mike, of Parks, Neb., and Shanan Pollmann of Wauneta, Neb.
Funeral services were held Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at 10:30 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Benkelman, Neb., with Pastor George Matthews officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Diana Ham.
Casketbearers were Kendall David, Blake Holtmeier, Brady Holtmeier and Hayden Pollmann.
Interment was in the Benkelman Cemetery, Benkelman.
Loraine will be remembered by her family for her love and caring ways. We thank God for letting us keep her here on earth with us for 94 years. May the Lord keep her in His tender loving care.
