Keith L. Walgren - July 24, 2012
Keith L. Walgren was born April 15, 1938, to Leslie and Lillian Walgren, in Stratton, Neb. He passed away July 24, 2012, in Cheyenne, Wyo.
Memorial services were held Monday, July 30, 2012, at the Wiederspahn-Radomsky Chapel with cremation at the Cheyenne Memorial Gardens.
Officiating at the memorial service was Dale Bartlett with music provided by soloist Maddie Casey.
Friends and family met at the Elk’s Lodge following the service.
The following poem was written by daughter Patty in tribute to her father:
Keith Leslie Walgren, that is my dad;
As I stand here today, I am very sad.
When I think about it, he had a great life;
An awesome soul mate, Jan, his wife.
Pam and I, his daughters, for that I am glad;
I know I am the boy he never had.
He taught me to fish from the shore or a boat;
Whoever caught the big one, or the most, got to gloat.
To throw a football, and dribble a basketball;
To get up and keep going after a fall.
To just keep trying, never give up;
That’s why my golf ball rolls in the cup.
To respect others and they will do the same;
If you make a mistake, take the blame.
To laugh, have fun, and at times be crazy;
You never get anywhere if you are lazy.
To be kind and caring, help when you can;
As you can see, he was quite a man.
One of the last things he said to me was “I’m going fishing”;
Hope he catches the biggest one ever, that’s what I am wishing.
My dad put up a good fight to the end;
Now his journey to heaven can begin.
God saw him getting tired, a cure not meant to be,
So He wrapped His arms around him and whispered “Come with Me.”
I love you,
