Arrie Anna Bentz - April 12, 2012


Arrie Anna Bentz (Olson) was born on May 5, 1922, to Carl and Leota (Mayo) Statz on the farm outside of Imperial. She had one older brother, Mayo.
Arrie Anna lived most all of her life in Imperial and the surrounding area.
She went to grade school and high school in Imperial, Curtis for a short period of time and attended college in York, Neb. After attending college she taught school in the rural Wauneta area.
Later Arrie Anna opened Rand Studio and then went to Professional Photography school in Winona, Ind. The studio later became Bentz Studio and was owned and operated for 40 plus years. When she retired from the business she had begun to work on a third generation of wedding pictures.
She also owned a Gamble Store and made many friends while selling Amway.
Arrie Anna loved working with people in many capacities. Even though she was always working she always made time for family, friends and volunteering with the Hospital Auxiliary.
Her hobbies included her yard and raising flowers, her white cats and her family was most important to her. A birthday never went uncelebrated without a family dinner if she had her way. She was a member of the Chase EUB church and after that the United Methodist Church of Imperial.
Arrie Anna married and had two children, Randy and Dotty, with Howard Levy. Several years later she met and married Calvin Bentz who helped run the Gamble store and the studio. Much later in life she became reacquainted with Howard Olson and they were married. Arrie Anna moved to Joplin, Mo., with Howard. When Howard passed away she came home to Imperial, where she lived out the rest of her very blessed life.
Arrie Anna Bentz (Olson) peacefully left this world on Thursday, April 12, 2012.
She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, brother, sister-in-law and spouses.
She is survived by son, Rand and his wife, Donna; daughter, Dorothy Levy and her husband, Tom McKenzie; son-in-law, Bob Jones; grandchildren, Mike Jones and wife, Mechelle; Lori and her husband, Dusty Stutzman; Ryan Jones and his wife, Angie; and Carl Levy and his wife, Julie; great grandchildren, Aubree, Alexis and Abigail Stutzman and Blake Jones. Other survivors are Cal Bentz Jr., Carol Bentz, Laura Bentz, David Bentz, Matthew Bentz, Phyllis and Burl Wimsett, Ken and Linda Olson, Margret Hartman, Eunice Leroy, Julie and Ron Burch, Jimmie and Mark McCutchen and Morgan and Sidra Kunnemann, as well as an abundant number of additional friends and family.
Arrie Anna’s funeral service was held at the United Methodist Church, in Imperial on Monday, April 16 at 10:30 a.m. She was laid to rest in the Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial by her parents.
Organist was Marcia Bauerle and music was provided by Jim Brown, Don Newman, Marla Smith, Kim Silvester and Jim Shaw.
Pallbearers included Nick Smith, Lloyd Smith, Kelly Beard, Morgan Kunnemann, Aaron Kunnemann and Dell Bishop.
Memorials may be sent to Imperial Manor, Imperial United Methodist Church or Chase County Community Hospital.
