Rodney Rowley - December 31, 1969
Rodney Wayne Rowley was born Oct. 14, 1933, in Wauneta, Neb., to Samuel Martin and Bess Edith (Hoover) Rowley. Rodney grew up in Wauneta and graduated from Wauneta High School.
On Dec. 6, 1952, Rodney married Ilene Marie Kibler in Colorado Springs, Colo., and to this union four sons, Randy, Larry, Rick and Ken, were born. The couple settled in Colorado Springs and Rodney worked in the auto body business for Carlin Dodge until he retired and they moved to Wauneta in 1996.
Rodney enjoyed golfing, playing cards, hunting and fishing.
He passed away Wednesday evening, March 18, 2009, at his home in Wauneta. He was 75 years of age.
Rodney was preceded in death by his wife and 10 siblings.
Survivors include: sons: Randy Rowley and Jeannie Earhart of Green River, Wyo.; Larry and wife Kris of Colorado Springs, Colo.; Rick and wife Dayna of Flagstaff, Ariz.; Ken and wife Samantha of Cassville, Mo.; 12 grandchildren; three great grandchildren and a sister, Nona Zeigler of Oregon.
Funeral services were held Monday, March 23 at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church, Wauneta, with Pastor Judy Dye officiating.
Organist was Mrs. Diana Ham.
Casketbearers were Terry Nichols, Kelly Nichols, Mike Nichols, Keenan Kitt, Kenny Ham and Lee Denker.
Interment was held later at the Memorial Gardens Cemetery at Colorado Springs, Colo.
A memorial has been established to the Wauneta Medical Center, Wauneta.
Liewer Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
