Delbert Crowell - October 19, 2011


Delbert C. Crowell, 86, of Jackson, Mo., died Wednesday, Oct, 19, 2011, at Jackson Manor.
He was born Friday, March 13, 1925, in Wauneta, Neb., to Leo and Iva McMullun Crowell.
Delbert and Ruby A. Daniel were married Aug. 4, 1951, in Cape Girardeau, Mo.
Delbert served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a navigator on a B-17. He was stationed in England and flew many missions over Europe.
He received a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. He was an engineer for the Natural Gas Pipeline Co. of America.
He retired to Cape Girardeau and worked for the City of Cape Girardeau Engineering Dept. for 15 years.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby A. Daniel Crowell of Jackson; two daughters, Rebecca Sue Crowell of Jackson and Charlotte Worswick of Ankey, Iowa; one grandson, Alexander Crowell of Jackson; two sisters, Elva Lostroh of Sidney, Neb., and Marilyn Wenberg of Lander, Wyo.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters.
Funeral services were held Sunday, Oct. 23, 2011, at 3 p.m. at the Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Jackson, Mo.
