Carolyn Anderson - September 26, 2011
Carolyn Kay (Roschewski) Anderson was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in April, 2011 and passed away at home on Sept. 26, 2011, at the age of 71.
Carolyn was born on Dec. 25, 1939, at Imperial, Neb., to William J. and Hilda M. (Fortkamp) Roschewski. Carolyn spent her entire life in the Wauneta community.
Carolyn grew up on the south divide and was baptized at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on Jan, 28, 1940, and was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church on March 29, 1953. Carolyn’s confirmation verse was “For the mountains shall depart and the hills be removed, but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the Lord that hath mercy on thee.” (Is. 54:10)
Carolyn attended St. Paul’s Lutheran Parochial School for seven years and in the spring of 1953 she with her family moved to a farm east of Wauneta and she finished her last year of grade school in the Wauneta School District. She attended Wauneta High School, graduating with the Class of 1958.
On Oct. 19, 1958, Carolyn was united in marriage to Ted Anderson. Ted and Carolyn have spent almost 53 years of marriage together. To this union three children, Cleve of Wauneta, Todd of Grand Island and Frank of Hamlet, were born.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents; brother Wayne Roschewski and nephew Anthony Roschewski.
She is survived by her husband Ted; son Cleve and daughter-in-law Brenda, son Todd and daughter-in-law Cindy and son Frank; five grandchildren: grandson Shane and wife Lindsay of Hickman, Neb., grandson Shelby and wife Katie of McCook, Neb., grandson Noah of Grand Island, Neb., granddaughter Tiffany and husband Bob Ochsner of St. Francis, Kan., granddaughter Symphony of Grand Island, Neb., three great grandchildren: great granddaughter Kiley Anderson, great grandson Parker Anderson and great granddaugher Leighton Anderson; sister Elaine and husband Walter Jones of Skiatook, Okla., brother Danny Roschewski and wife Sharla of Imperial, Neb., and sister-in-law Elaine Roschewski of Palisade, Neb., plus aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and many, many friends.
Carolyn had a very, very strong faith in God. She loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and play Phase 10 cards.
Carolyn took command of the hog farm while her husband Ted was at his job. She loved her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Carolyn requested memorials to go to Redeemer Lutheran Church and KNGN Radio.
Funeral services for Carolyn will be held Friday morning, Sept. 30 at 10:30 a.m. MT at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Wauneta, with Pastor Greg Stuckwisch officiating.
Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Wauneta.
